Maharashtra Adventure Tourism Policy

Adventure tourism, conceived by Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray, will be implemented in the state. The Thackeray government has introduced an adventure tourism policy to boost tourism in Maharashtra. Adventure tourism has been approved by the Cabinet on 14th July 2021 under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray said that he will soon announce the rules and regulations in this regard.

The state did not have any concrete rules, guidelines and instructions regarding adventure tourism. There were many accidents while doing adventure tourism. Many lives have been lost. This led to the formation of this policy. The safety of tourists is important while promoting tourism in the state. Earlier 70 different types of permits were required but now only 10 are required. Earlier, approximately 70 types of accreditation were required from the concerned system, but now 10 organizations will have to be approved. 15 No Objection Certificates were required; now 9 NoCs and self-declarations are required. We are working on a draft policy for this cove. “After Corona, we will implement the relevant policy”, said Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray.

According to this policy of the government, temporary certificates will be given to the organizations and associations organizing adventure tourism in the state. After completion of all the qualifications, the final registration certificate will be issued by the Directorate of Tourism. Committees will be constituted at state and divisional level for effective implementation of adventure tourism policy. These committees will include experts in air, land and water tourism. The role of this committee will be important for the planning and planning of adventure tourism. He expressed confidence that adventure and agro-tourism and other tourism would boost tourism in the state and lead the country.

 

The Minister of Tourism has stated that all types of competitive adventure sports, wildlife, jeep safaris in the sanctuary and nature trips are not allowed in this policy.

  7. One window service will be available for various permissions.
  8. Incentive arrangements for rescue volunteer groups.
  9. Various tax concessions will be given to boost adventure tourism in the state.
  10. Emphasis will be laid on the safety of tourists.
  11. To produce trained manpower.
  12. To work in adventure tourism, to give proper guidance to organizations and associations.

Considering the geographical location of the state of Maharashtra, one of the above or other adventure tourism can be done.

Adventure tourism is booming, especially in youth. Adventure tourism activities are implemented in many agro-tourism in the state. In the future, large scale activities will be possible in Konkan, Vidarbha, Marathwada and the rest of Maharashtra. Through agro-tourism centres in the state, tourists can be given a different experience by implementing many adventure tourism activities.
